Government & Political Charter Flights

Jet Charter Philadelphia arranges private charter flights for government and political travel from Philadelphia, Harrisburg and airports across Pennsylvania. Official schedules and campaign schedules both change constantly, and the aircraft has to keep up with them.

Most of this work is short notice and multi-leg. A delegation moving between Harrisburg, Philadelphia and Washington inside a single day. A candidate working three media markets before an evening event. Or staff and equipment repositioning ahead of an announcement. Where an aircraft is available, we can usually have a trip confirmed within a few hours.

Airports for government travel in Pennsylvania

Northeast Philadelphia Airport (KPNE) is the usual departure point for trips like these. It has a 7,000-foot runway, a tower staffed from six in the morning until eleven at night, and customs available around the clock with prior notice. Harrisburg International (KMDT) and Capital City (KCXY) both serve the state capital. When the delegation is large enough to call for an airliner-size aircraft, Philadelphia International takes anything up to that size on its 12,000-foot runway.

Security and discretion

Every flight we arrange is operated by a certified air carrier. Before we send you options, we confirm the operator’s certification, review their safety and incident history, and confirm that the pilots are experienced and current on the aircraft type you will be flying on.

Passenger names and itinerary details stay confidential. They go to the operator and the private terminal handling the trip, and no further.

Vetting Behind Every Trip

Every operator, aircraft, and crew goes through our internal due diligence before we present any options. Our internal standards meet or exceed what the FAA requires:

  • FAR Part 135 charter operators for traditional private aircraft, or FAR Part 121 for airliner-size and group trips (or the foreign equivalent on international legs)
  • Operator subscription to Wyvern and ARGUS reviewed where the operator participates; reports may be provided on request.
  • Pilot experience and operator incident history reviewed before we recommend an aircraft.
  • Fewer than 60 brokers worldwide hold Premium Wyvern Broker Member status, and Air Charter Advisors is one of them.

Philadelphia-Specific Patterns We Plan Around

Winter is the one that catches people out, because de-icing takes time on the ramp before an aircraft can depart and a January departure can sit longer than the same trip in June. Summer brings thunderstorms that move through the corridor quickly and close airspace while they pass. Your advisor watches both ahead of your date and will call you before you call us.
